“We were motivated to open a Baby Boutique in Howick when Kristen became pregnant with her first child. There are things you need when starting out as a parent; not only products but also knowledge and service, and we found there were not a lot of options available locally for these. After Rachael had her baby the time was perfect; we had each other, so we decided to just jump in.
We both grew up Howick attending local schools and playing in local sports teams, and with Howick being such a family orientated community we saw a need for a baby store. We enjoyed working together at PIC Insurance Brokers in our Dad’s business and after having three boys between us (7months, 1 year and 2 years) the time was right to open Baby HQ.
We are focused on high quality and functional products. The correct installation of car seats and operation of strollers is important. Having used many of the products ourselves, we believe in the brands and products we have in store. We stock New Zealand-made where we can, but we also stock Australian, American and European brands.
We are enjoying being in Howick with lots of other independent business owners. The friendly village vibe is great. We have felt really welcomed by other shop owners and customers. Pop in and say hello!”
