Bruce and Gill – Flooring Xtra

“We are proud Howick locals having lived here most of our lives. We both have extensive backgrounds in flooring. Bruce has over 20 years in the game and offers an amazing amount of product knowledge; and I have a long background specialising in colour and interior design. Our complimentary skill-sets provide a great dynamic in the business.

As you can imagine, our customers often don’t know which product is right for them – and this is where we come in! We start by getting a better understanding of their project, then we narrow down an offering that best suits their need and budget, whether they’re after flooring for a rental property, a house sale, or something really special for themselves that will last for many years to come.

Many of our customers are interested in New Zealand made product. Following Covid-19, we have really enjoyed a swing back to customers shopping locally and supporting local business.

We have a great sized showroom on Picton Street allowing customers to view a large variety of product. We offer all the most popular carpet brands, including The Abode Collection; a Flooring Xtra customised rage of Nylon carpets, offering excellent value for money in top-selling New Zealand colours; and Bremworth carpets, which are 100% New Zealand made, and a stunning, top end wool carpet. We also have Feltex and Godfrey-Hirst, offering beautiful wool and nylon carpets (to name but a few).

If it is rugs, throws, or cushions you are after, we offer 20% off all Furtex product – check out our website to view these online.
Let’s not forget laminate, engineered flooring and hybrids, again we carry all of the big brands Quickstep, Xpert Pro and many more.

We love seeing familiar faces in Howick; often you’ll come across half a dozen people just walking up and down the street who you know. Everybody is super friendly, and we’ve got to know a lot of the other retailers because we’ve looked after their flooring needs as well.

What’s not to love about Howick!
